The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of questionable actions towards young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
