The Music Icon Embraces a Hell Version of Herself in Satirical Film First Look
Charli XCX is getting ready for a significant cinematic onslaught in 2026, beginning with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Within the project, the artist embodies what she describes as a hell version of her own persona.
It’s the truest representation of the music industry that I’ve ever encountered, Charli stated.
She elaborated in a discussion: It’s far from a live performance documentary, but the idea stemmed from the demand to make one.
A Sneak Peek into The Film
The first teaser, unveiled on this week, blends real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with imagined behind-the-scenes moments.
The mockumentary is helmed and co-scripted by the director, who shared that the story revolves around a reality where the singer made entirely different choices throughout the promotion of her hugely successful record Brat.

A Busy Acting Schedule
This project is a single one of numerous future screen roles for the musician, who already starred in three independent movies this year.

Future Ventures

She also signed on to feature in the star’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.
I’m deeply appreciating my acting journey, Charli shared. I feel very, very inspired right now in this area, and I solely aim to pursue things that inspire me.

February will also include the launch of the filmmaker’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will include fresh tracks from the artist.
She is also set to create the soundtrack for the film Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release in the coming year.
The mockumentary will be released on the 30th of January.
